Open-Mindedness and Worldwide Cooperation; Unfinished

The idea of open-mindedness is almost paradoxical. If your mind is open to everything, then what is the point? One of the truths that people refuse to discuss is that we can't truly know anything at all. If you're open-minded enough to accept this possibility, then you lose any and all importance of any potential knowledge and information whatsoever. If you stick to beliefs but constantly jump to a new one because it may be true, then again, what is the point? Open-mindedness is only important if you have structured ideals. It is necessary to have the capacity to engage with new information and use them to complement your thoughts and beliefs. Sometimes this includes radical change, which means work. To be unable to change is to be stuck in a mindset that will inevitably grow outdated. We can't do this all our lives, but as young people we must have the ability to shift our perspective and learn from others what we can't learn by ourselves. This is fundamental in progression and improvement. I'm not necessarily saying anything new, but I'm once again questioning how this is possible. Perception is easily distorted and tricks can be played. How can you trust yourself, let alone other people? How can one person learn to manage truth, a topic which philosophers have been debating for centuries? The smartest people in history are unsure that they know anything at all, yet the average person walks around with such confidence in their beliefs that they would go so far as to kill, whether indirectly or directly, in order to protect them. They keep them safe from their insecurities, right? Their belief that others are worse than they are is all the evidence they need to disregard and project their insecurities. What if we are all on the same playing field? You can only sit with your insecurities. The people around you may reject you for this, yet is it not the proper way to live life; to accept who you are, to accept others, and to learn from them? Imagine the growth we could accomplish with this worldwide cooperation. This is a pipe dream, of course. Maybe we'll get there some day but who knows? Radical change within an individual is already difficult enough, radical change within eight billion individuals? Impossible. Maybe views shift as the generations pass, but if history has taught us anything, it's that we will always find a reason to kill eachother.
