God
God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God. God.
There's something about that word. Maybe something that was ingrained in me. Maybe just what it means to me. I can't imagine other people feel the same way when they think it. I try to think of a substitute for the word "God" but it's hard to find. Nothing comes to mind. Is this evidence of "His" existence? I feel a sense of relaxation when I think of the word "God". I think of God as the distinct, perceived humanity objectified by the universe. Meaning there is the self, then the human that we are. The human that we are is born from the universe, is of the universe, and is a part of the universe and the natural world. We are allowed the belief that we are not solely responsible for our actions but we are not necessarily controlled. Through God, we are alleviated from the feeling of separateness. We feel whole, in the realization that we are, in fact, not alone. We have no faith in humanity itself, so we place our faith in something higher. Not realizing that we place our faith in another form of humanity. What Plato called "the world of forms". Our ability to imagine things idealistically, and the ability to pursue such a thing. We, as humans, do not believe we are capable of such a thing, so we imagine something that is and strive towards it. When we fail, we understand that God is still there. God has our back. God is carrying us forward. Imagine humans did create God in this way and for this purpose. This power is beautiful in its own right. The ambition to strive for perceived perfection, with the understanding that we will not be able to, and forgiving ourselves for our transgressions. I believe it is possible to live a secular life in this way. However, there must be an essence of the feeling of spirituality. This feeling of spirituality, of interconnectedness, is always inside of us. We don't need God or psychedelics or tarot to make us feel it. Life, in itself, has mystical qualities that we can tune ourselves to. We don't understand the existence of the universe but it exists nonetheless, this we can feel. There's no need to attach to any dogma or beliefs that fall outside of this specific definition of God. There's no scripture that tells us how to attach to it or what the right or wrong thing to do is. We can be individuals, detached from any groupthink, and still feel the beauty of God.
